Program Director

The Senior Life Solutions Program Director ensures that the intensive outpatient psychiatric program meets Psychiatric Medical Care’s (PMC) standards. Supervisor of the program staff, the Program Director’s responsibilities include: evaluating staff performance, recruiting and screening new staff, and providing community education to create awareness of the program. Good relationship building skills a must: comfortable and experienced with working closely with hospital CEO’s, CFO’s, CNO’s and high level decision makers. Must have a proven ability in conflict resolution and effective problem solving. The Program Director directs and coordinates the activities of staff to ensure quality patient care. They also must incorporate financial accountability into program activities.

Care: All employees are expected to provide the best possible patient care
– Ensure a caring and congenial environment which is necessary for healing
– Ensure completion of initial intake of potential patient is completed accurately
– Participate in staffing as needed and pass on relevant information to other members of the treatment team to facilitate patient success
– Ensure falls assessment is competed accurately
– Ensure patient treatment plan is completed accurately
– Ensure triple check required of therapist documentation prior to billing is performed accurately
– Contact the Elder Abuse Hotline per the 25-point check list as needed
– Keep in contact with Regional Director and inform them when necessary of anything that might impact the hospital, patients or Senior Life Solutions in a timely manner
– Ensure preparation for doctor’s day and required information
– Coordinate schedules with psychiatrist to ensure participation with treatment team
– Demonstrate knowledge of mental health assessment for older adults, gerontological case management and behavioral health disorders associated with aging
– Delegate as needed to ensure continuity of care and deadlines are met

Compliance: Ensure the program operates within all regulations
– Ensure all rules associated with the federal government such as Medicare are followed.
– Be prepared for surveys by regulatory groups such as The Joint Commission, DNV, HFAP or local state licensing
– Provide evaluations and documentation per guidelines
– Keep up to date on all training obligations
– Ensure compliance with the 25-point checklist by utilizing provided audit tool
– Ensure all forms are signed and completed appropriately
– Complete insurance verification process for every referral
– Respond to inquiries on a timely basis and provide further referrals and follow up as necessary.
– Provide reports as requested by the Regional Director

Community: Become a wonderful addition to your local community
– Participate in both Senior Life Solutions and local hospital events.
– Provide community education on a weekly basis and ensure the community is aware of the SLS program.
– Keep up to date community education contacts.
– Participate in customer service training as it relates to community integration
– Serve as a member of the hospital leadership team.

Qualifications
– Education: associate’s degree or higher in nursing.
– Licensure: Registered Nurse
– Certification: Must meet any applicable state certification standards.
– Experience: two to three years of experience with seniors, hospital or nursing facility preferred.
– Must have proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Electronic Medical Records
– Experience communicating & working closely with Physicians
– Understanding and experience in behavioral healthcare
– Demonstrated skill in utilization management and review systems
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple disciplines
– Demonstrated skill in problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, advocacy, and team building
– Ability to accomplish work objectives where few precedents or guidelines currently exist
– Excellent oral and written communication skills

Working Conditions
Incumbent will be exposed to virus, disease, infection from patients.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position required intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching as well as lifting, driving and supporting patients.

Registered Nurse-Acute

Acute Care/ER Nurse
Full Time – Nights

Brief Description of Job:

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned patients.
  • Provides professional nursing care to these patients incorporating the nursing process, the environment, technical equipment and health care members.
  • Responsible for meeting the Medicare requirements for Nursing Practice, Standards of Care and established policies and procedures.
  • Works effectively with the health care team.

Essential Functions:

  • Administers nursing care to patients; includes assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the patient’s care plan in coordination with the physician.
  • Provides total patient care.
  • Provides patient/family or care giver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional and environmental health problems.
  • Supervises health care members (i.e., licensed practical nurses, nurse aides, EMT’s) with patients.
  • Maintains knowledge of documentation requirements needed for patient records.
  • Utilizing the nursing process, plans and directs care of the emergency patient.
  • Works independently with limited direct supervision using the Nurse Practice Act, Ringgold County Hospital Policies, Nursing Standards and professional judgment.
  • Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up, maintenance and use, i.e., IV Pumps, monitoring equipment, drainage/suction devices, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient/personnel information.
  • Initiates emergency support measures, ACLS, protecting patient from injury.
  • Works assigned shift/shifts, weekends and holidays, as scheduled.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current licensure for the State of Iowa
  • Maintains continuing education requirements consistent with the State of Iowa for re-licensure.
  • Participates in educational pursuits such as conferences and literature to maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and management techniques.
  • Understands HIPAA regulations and privacy of patient and employee information.

Physical Therapist

Rehab Services
Full-Time Days

This position provides direct patient care through evaluation and treatment of patients referred to Ringgold County Hospital.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Physical Therapy with a Master’s or Doctorate of Physical Therapy or equivalent.
  • Hold a current license in the State of Iowa.
  • Understands HIPAA regulations and privacy of patient and employee information.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluation of patients/clients referred to Physical Therapy.
  • Establish appropriate treatment plan based upon the physical therapy evaluation.
  • Treatment procedures given to patients.
  • Completion and submitting of reports.
  • Serves on various committees and provides education to others as indicated, i.e., in services, Day of Education, community education.
  • Oversees PTA that is assigned to therapist’s patient.
  • Performs departmental educational inservices for Rehab staff.

BENEFITS

IPERS
RCH participates in the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS). As of July 1, 2013, 5.95% of the employee’s gross wages are withheld from each paycheck and sent to IPERS along with 8.93% percent of the employee’s gross wages that are contributed by the hospital.

Deferred Compensation
Additional retirement planning, in the form of deferred compensation, is made available through payroll deduction. Interested employees should speak with the Personnel Department.

Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
Full-time and regular part-time employees of Ringgold County Hospital are eligible for coverage on the first of the month following the completion of thirty (30) days of employment.

Term Life
Employees of Ringgold County Hospital are eligible to enroll in group term life and travel accident insurance at the end of their orientation period.

Additional Insurance Coverage
Employees also have the option to enroll in hospital indemnity, personal sickness indemnity, accident insurance and cancer insurance through AFLAC.

Short-term & Long-term Disability
Employees of the hospital are eligible for benefits derived from short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability plans. Pamphlets and information on STD/LTD are available in the Personnel Department.

Paid Time Off
Ringgold County Hospital provides for vacation, personal, sick time and holidays in the form of paid time off (PTO). Employees begin earning PTO immediately and are eligible to use their PTO following successful completion of the orientation period. Full-time employees earn PTO at the rate of 5.54 hours per pay period.

Holidays
Employees working on one of the seven holidays—New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day—shall receive time and a half for time worked on the holiday.

Flexible Benefits Plan
RCH has a flexible benefits plan that allows employees to pay for health insurance premiums, qualifying medical expenses and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. Employees may enroll for benefits within thirty (30) days of their employment-eligibility date or at the annual open enrollment period each December.

Direct Payroll Deposit
Employees of Ringgold County Hospital may enroll in the direct deposit program, opting to have their paychecks directly deposited into their bank accounts.
