Ringgold County Hospital offers specialized heart care through a partnership with Iowa Heart Center, P.C.. Eric Martin, MD who is board-certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography, and Jean Schmitt, ARNP from the Iowa Heart Center meet with patients through the Visiting Physician Clinic on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month. Clinical cardiology services can help patients manage their risk factors to help prevent heart disease with consultations and cardiovascular testing. If you have a family history of heart disease such as heart attack or stroke, or have risk factors for heart disease, scheduling a consultation may be right for you. Risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, a low activity level, if you’re overweight, or you have a smoking history.
If you already have heart disease or a heart condition, Clinical Cardiology can help manage your condition and assess your progress with follow up visits.
Ringgold County Hospital also offers risk assessment appointments if you are planning to have a major surgery and need cardiac assessment.
